PERT Plus Product Suite
The PERT Plus product suite offers users of Microsoft Project/ Project Desktop Client a host of valuable features to do 3-point estimates, contingency planning, and RACI matrix, which includes a range of components.
After the installation process, the Add-in can be accessed through the Microsoft Project PERT Plus Tab in the Ribbon.

PERT Analysis and Contingency Planning
Schedule model analysis uses various tools and techniques throughout the project life cycle to optimize the schedule from different perspectives, such as critical path, critical chain, uncertainties/risks, resource constraints, and various types of dependencies, before creating the baseline schedule model.
You have the option to establish a three-point estimate for individual activities or selected tasks, utilizing the BETA distribution for determining the expected duration. This allows you to make a comparative assessment against the deterministic estimate. In cases where adjustments are necessary, they can be applied to specific tasks or to an entire range of activities.
The built-in contingency planning features facilitate the computation of standard distribution at the activity level. These distributions can be consolidated at the project level to formulate a contingency towards the project's conclusion. This contingency is structured as a set of buffer tasks, with options for either a one-standard-deviation (1α) for an 84% confidence level or a two-standard-deviation (2α) for a 97.75% confidence level. Additionally, you have the flexibility to introduce resource and cost buffers, maintaining proportionality with the overall project effort and cost.
This utility also serves as an effective tool for implementing Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM), enabling project managers to further optimize project planning and execution.
Risk Analysis
- Qualitative risk analysis: Prioritizes risks based on their probability, impact, and risk exposure.
- Quantitative risk analysis: Uses numerical methods to assess the likelihood and impact of risks.
Based on the prioritized risks, response strategies are developed and documented in a risk register. These actions are implemented by revising the schedule and building reserves in terms of schedule duration, cost budget, and work (effort).

Module Key Features:
- Establish Three Point Estimates (Optimistic, Most likely, and Pessimistic) at each activity level
- Calculating the mean duration for each activity using Beta distribution
- Option to revise the base estimate with the calculated mean.
- Tasks using Task Calendars
- Calculating the Standard deviation for the project and
- Arriving at Buffer for two levels of confidence (84% and 98%)
- Insert a new non-effort buffer task and applying the contingency to the is task.
- Insert a deadline at the finish date of this buffer task.
- Adjust buffer while monitoring the schedule performance.
Benefits:
These capabilities empower project managers to harness uncertainties and construct a forward-looking schedule that distinguishes between internal and external targets using a project buffer. When coupled with a robust risk response strategy and an efficient contingency plan, you can showcase a substantial improvement of at least 15 to 20% compared to conventional scheduling approaches.
Furthermore, this module supports project managers in adopting the Critical Chain scheduling method in tandem with the existing standard capabilities of Microsoft Project, including Critical Path Method (CPM) and Resource Leveling features.

RACI Matrix
Plan Resource Management is the process of defining how to estimate, acquire, manage, and use team and physical resources. It also establishes the approach and level of management effort needed for resource management, based on the project's type and complexity. This process is performed once or at predefined points in the project.
Resource planning determines and identifies how to ensure that sufficient resources are available to complete the project successfully. Project resources can include team members, suppliers, materials, equipment, services, and facilities. Effective resource planning considers and plans for the availability of scarce resources, or competition for them.

Tools and Techniques:
- Expert judgment
- Data representation
Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)
A Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM) is a tool used to show the project resources assigned to each work package, as well as the connections between work packages, activities, and project team members. It is displayed in a matrix format, with all activities associated with one person and all people associated with one activity.
RACI Chart
A RACI chart is a useful tool to ensure clear assignment of roles and responsibilities when the team consists of internal and external resources.
